Home, sweet home!

Stuck indoors all day waiting for a parcel from the USA: but this glorious weather does at least allow me to appreciate the work Linda (Mrs B!) has carried out in the garden over the 20 years we've lived here, and the wildlife this attracts....
If I had a couple of tips for would-be wildlife gardeners, they'd be:
1) Water! We have two ponds and two bird baths: they're always the centre of attention!
2) Centranthus! Red Centranthus in particular attracts butterflies all summer: we've had Swallowtails, a Camberwell and Hummingbird Hawks on ours!
And, as I've mentioned before, we spend £20 - £30 every week on bird food - mealworms, suet, niger seeds, peanuts, sunflower seeds etc etc: variety is the key! Today there have been Dunnocks, Robins, Blackbirds, Jackdaws, Rooks, Magpies, House Sparrows, all the doves & pigeons feeding themselves and their young!
