Osprey!

Great morning at Strumpshaw! I finally connected with an Emperor Dragonfly (an SF tick!)as well as loads of Norfolk Hawkers, damselflies and Swallowtails.

Walking along the riverside, a strange call made me look up: it was a Bittern making a noise like a Heron with a sore throat! I decided to change cameras: at this precise moment an Osprey flew south, mobbed by gulls. I managed a couple of poor shots, but it was just great to add Osprey to the year list.

Is something going on? Not only were there several pairs of F15s heading eastwards, but also a Sentinel AWAC and a C-17 Globemaster!
