Hummers on the Heath!

Now that the Centranthus / Valerian is in flower, the garden is visited every day by Humming Bird Hawkmoths - what fabulous little creatures they are! Quite hard to capture sharp images on a warm day like today, since the temperature seems to make them even more hyperactive!

Mouthwatering images online of several species of clearwing moths, including the fabulous Hornet Clearwing! Now the rest of the LoTSW crew are back  in Norfolk, maybe I'll finally see one! With any luck a projected visit for butterflies at Holt CP with Peter and Sue might produce some - or at the very least a Broad-bordered Bee Hawkmoth (another species on my 'desperate to see' list!)
