Eleonora's Falcon over Blofield Heath

Following my post on Saturday, I've had ten or so e-mails (and a single comment on this blog) agreeing that the mystery bird was indeed an Eleonora's Falcon. About half of the e-mails have been from correspondents who are familiar with the species and I attach a photograph sent by one of them. At the time I was most struck by the agility of the bird's flight and the straightness and 'stiffness' of its wings: its jizz was sufficiently different to anything I'd seen before that I broke off from saying goodbye to my friends to take photos!

What has been interesting is the deafening silence from several 'experts' I contacted: I would have thought the photos were at least worth commenting on!
