Yare Valley waders

A quick trot around a very misty Strumpshaw Fen with Brian was thoroughly enjoyable. Apart from the ever-present Black Swan, Fen Hide provided just fleeting glimpses of a distant Kingfisher, so we soon moved on.

The newly-exposed muddy fringes of the Tower Hide pool had attracted a decent selection of waders: Greenshank, Redshank, Ruff, Common Sandpiper and Snipe, while about a dozen Little Egrets dozed on the point among several hundred Shoveller.
On the way home I stopped to photograph a young & fluffy Little Owl: what a gorgeous bird!
