When Linda and I first moved into our little bungalow, we were the only 'sad types' to put up Christmas lights! This year, as far as I can see, everyone in the close has decorated their houses. Yes I know: 'global warming blah blah' but these lights are very low wattage and I haven't flown on an aircraft for thirty years!
I became aware of how festive our neighbours have suddenly become when I was out photographing Venus tonight: it was a really bright object above the south-western horizon, with Saturn a little further west. The waning Moon was absolutely a treat too, with some fabulous crater fields along the terminator.
