Love and a messenger at twilight: Venus and Mercury

Following the weekly 'Clap for the NHS'. I made my way to the top of the Heath and waited for sunset. I passed the time listening to Tawny Owls and Partridges and - most surprisingly - chatting at a suitable distance with the Rev. Kevin (our local Vicar) and his wife!

Once it was dark enough to pick out Capella just above the  still bright Venus. the much fainter speck of Mercury appeared. Good to see: but next Thursday and Friday, the two planets will be side by side. This is quite a rare occurrence and worth making an effort to see.
