Can't help but think about my Dad who was in the RAF Regiment: he would've been 100 last Christmas. His squadron (he was a Flight Sergeant) fought across France, Belgium and Germany: whether it's true or not, he always told me he had witnessed the German surrender on Luneburg Heath...
