Waking up to a quite steady (if ephemeral) snowfall confirms how important bird feeders are in cold weather: within ten minutes of dawn, the ground feeder was surrounded by Pheasants, Doves and Pigeons, while Blackbirds quickly found the dried fruit Linda had put out on the raised tables.
