Over the past few days the Moon has been creeping towards Jupiter, finally reaching its closest encounter last night at 18.30-ish. The sky has been spectacularly clear and the conjunction was a lovely sight with the naked eye. Here are a few sequenced images, including an over-exposed one in which you can see Jupiter's four largest satellites.
