Working at my computer this afternoon, I glanced up to see three Great Spotted Woodpeckers chasing each other around the large sycamore at the end of our garden. This menage consisted of a single male and two females: something I've never seen before. (Sadly I didn't manage to catch all three together...) Sorry about the quality of the images: it was very gloomy and misty and the tree is thirty or so metres away.
