Whenever an F35 fighter visits us from Lakenheath they are immediately recognizable by their engine tone: they are incredibly loud and very distinctive. What's more, even at great height (like the one below) they are easy to pick out against clouds or blue sky: easy meat for a SAM or faster interceptor I'd've thought!
