Yesterday morning there was yet another intense aurora: from here on the Heath the effect was somewhat lessened by a belt of mist: nevertheless, the northern sky glowed a deep red for around four hours!
As the Sun set the previous evening, part of the cause was visible: a number of large, active regions on the Sun's surface.
