The usual early start for Brian, Norman and me, beginning at Titchwell at around 08.00. The target bird - a drake Red-crested Pochard - surrendered without too much trouble, but was always distant in the far corner of Patsy's Pool. A walk around gave us a few Spoonbills and a Little Ringed Plover that appeared to be on a nest in front of the Parrinder Hide, while we only managed a glimpse of the Spotted Flycatchers near the picnic areea.
After coffee at Cley we checked out Bishop's Hide before walking out to the sea along the East Bank: lots of Spoonbills and all the Egrets and a couple of good bursts of song from the Marsh Warbler that has taken up residence along the Skirts.
Last stop was Kelling Heath where we instantly found a couple of Silver-studded Blue butterflies, as well as a bonus Woodlark.
