Acle Storks!

Just about in my five-mile radius... But I used to teach at Acle and Linda (Mrs B!) lived in Damgate Lane, so we had to go for a rainswept peep!

Amazing! I showed these pics of two Buzzards to the Warden who identified them as Marsh Harriers!!!!

This is a Marsh Harrier! I expect the Warden would've id'd it as a Short-toed Eagle! LOL!

This one was part of a flock of 20 or so in the hedges along High Noon Lane

Funny old day!

I looked out of the office window first thing to see this gentleman perched on next door's Monkey Puzzle!
Then, ten minutes later, a new garden tick!

Just like the Highlands!

A pre-tempest five-miler was surprisingly fruitful: I found this Osprey at Strumpshaw Fen at around 8.45 am.
With the resident herd of Highland Cattle (and the temperature!) it was like Loch Garten!

What Larks, Pip!

The region around BH, Pedham & Hemblington is gratifyingly well-stocked with Skylarks and Yellowhammers, as well as several resident pairs of Kestrels & Sparrowhawks

Came upon this Chinese Water Deer near Buckenham: he seemed quite surprised by the encounter!

Buzzards!

Several Common Buzzards over the Heath this morning, all thermalling southwards...

Around Pedham

Nothing exceptional today: still a few Golden Plovers and Fieldfares, as well as a completely bottle-green Pheasant.
