Just about in my five-mile radius... But I used to teach at Acle and Linda (Mrs B!) lived in Damgate Lane, so we had to go for a rainswept peep!
Good to finally meet Tim Allwood: one of the good guys....
Two new pictures taken in the Sun on Monday!

Strumpshaw Fen: Friday
Amazing! I showed these pics of two Buzzards to the Warden who identified them as Marsh Harriers!!!! |
This is a Marsh Harrier! I expect the Warden would've id'd it as a Short-toed Eagle! LOL! |
Male Water Deer: impressive tusks! |

Linnets & Llamas!
There are a couple of places on the Heath where Linnets are quite abundant. This one was part of a flock of 20 or so in the hedges along High Noon Lane |
An unexpected site near Hemblington Church! |

Funny old day!
I looked out of the office window first thing to see this gentleman perched on next door's Monkey Puzzle!
Then, ten minutes later, a new garden tick!

Just like the Highlands!
A pre-tempest five-miler was surprisingly fruitful: I found this Osprey at Strumpshaw Fen at around 8.45 am.
With the resident herd of Highland Cattle (and the temperature!) it was like Loch Garten!

What Larks, Pip!
The region around BH, Pedham & Hemblington is gratifyingly well-stocked with Skylarks and Yellowhammers, as well as several resident pairs of Kestrels & Sparrowhawks

Around Pedham
Nothing exceptional today: still a few Golden Plovers and Fieldfares, as well as a completely bottle-green Pheasant.

Like I need another website! But this was free and it seems time for me to find a home for the increasing library of bird & mammal pics I have obtained during my daily 5 - 10 mile walks around Blofield Heath, Buckenham & Strumpshaw...
Today's offering: a beautiful male Ring Ouzel that I photographed from my back garden!
