Mother & Child Reunion!

Deferring a run out to Breydon until tomorrow when my birding chum Martin is free (which he now won't be!) I took a run around Strumpshaw - and very glad I am that I did!

The willow scrub to the west of Dr George's cottage held over a dozen Brown Argus and several Common Blues, as well as an Essex Skipper.

Moving round to the Fen proper, I quickly found my first two Willow Emeralds of the year, as well as a couple of Swallowtail caterpillars and four adults here and along Lackford Run (Hence the blog title!)

There were still plenty of Brown & Norfolk Hawkers, as well as Four-spotted and Scarce Chasers. All in all, a great couple of hours!
