In a probably vain effort to pre-empt a festive weight-gain, I took a seven mile stroll around the local lanes this pm: nothing spectacular, but refreshing and not without interest. In the fields near Hemblington Church, nine Helmeted Guinea Fowl looked suitably smug at having escaped just before Christmas, while a Marsh Harrier drifted over to check them out! Only other bird-interest came from a pair of Egyptian Geese: only the 3rd & 4th patch records!
