Cranes are no cure for Man flu!

Despite suffering from the effects of: 1) A bad cold 2) Rather too much champagne last night 3) Hayfever and 4) ME, I thought a walk in the sun might cheer me up!

As I was chatting to Brian & Norman at Reception (they were just leaving) two Cranes dropped in opposite the hide: always good to see. A move round to Fen Hide produced even better views - SF is, without doubt, the best place in Norfolk to see genuinely wild Cranes up close & personal: fingers crossed! An Odonata year-tick came in the form of a Four-spotted Chaser.

I continued the circuit along the river bank and Lackford Run, adding Banded Demoiselle, Scarce Chaser, Little Egret and an obliging Reed Warbler to the day's tally... no Swallowtails or Green Hairstreaks, though.
