The usual crew of Linda, Jason, Paul and I met at the East Gate car park by Woodbridge Airbase for our near-annual nighttime walk through the Forest. On a somewhat cool, drab day there were few birds and even fewer people, but we enjoyed revisiting the familiar tracks and clearings (Although I had to take a five-mile circular walk to find my lost lens hood!)
After lunch in the usual riverside cafe at Orford, we drove to the Holiday Inn at Ipswich to check into our amazing deluxe suites: without doubt the best hotel room I've ever stayed in!
Back to Orford for a somewhat protracted supper at the 'Jolly Sailors' and a short stroll along the quay before heading back to the forest. We took our usual route along Track 10 out to Capel Green and back: despite a general lack of 'funny feelings' we did see and photograph a few orbs: if you've never walked here at night, it's definitely something for your bucket list!
Back to Ipswich for (free!) drinks in the bar...
