Swallowtails, White Admirals and Norfolk Hawkers at Strumpshaw Fen.

Some terrific insects at Strumpshaw this morning - still no clearwings though...

Several Swallowtails on the wing, including a very confiding (if somewhat washed-out) individual near the new dipping pool and another I watched fly from across the river!

A couple of White Admirals spent a decent amount of time along the Woodland Walk, while there were plenty of Speckled Woods, Brimstones and Small Tortoiseshells around the reserve. I came across just a single Large Skipper.

Lots of Four-spotted Chasers and Norfolk Hawkers on the Meadow, and all the usual commoner Odonata too.
