Sunday, Sunny Sunday!
It was Linda's birthday yesterday and one of her presents was new walking boots: since the weather was so delicious, we decided to christen them with a walk around Strump & Buck. We met the charming Kim on the Sandy Wall, who confirmed the absence of anything spectacular, so we just enjoyed the sunshine and atypical warmth! There were a few birdy highlights, though - an obvious passage of Buzzards was taking place, with at least seven seen. Other raptors were much in evidence, with several displaying pairs of Kestrels and Marsh Harriers. No new waders at Buck, but a Little Egret did a showy fly past! Last additions to the day were a Nuthatch calling from along Low Road, several Redwings foraging along the Woodland Trail and three species of Butterfly: Brimstone, Small Tortoiseshell and Peacock.
