Pensthorpe Wildlife Fair and Titchwell: captive and wild..

Linda and I made a quick run up to Choseley Barns at 8.00am before meeting Sue and Peter at Pensthorpe. We had terrific views of three Dotterel before heading back to the Birdfair. Lots of accessible celebrities (Mike Dilger, Bill Oddie and Simon King amongst others) as well as good food, interesting and thought-provoking talks and some amazing species in the captive breeding program. These included Corncrake, Red Squirrel, Turtle Dove, Crane and Bluethroat, as well as wild Little Ringed Plovers. Buzzards and a Red Kite All in all, a terrific day out!

Peter and Sue followed us to Choseley, where two Dotterel were still showing at 5.00pm: a first for our friends. A confiding Corn Bunting was a bonus! Linda and I carried on to Titchwell, where we added a wild Turtle Dove to the yearlist without getting out of the car!
