For the next few days the two planets nearest to the Sun - Mercury and Venus - will be visible in the west just after sunset. Last night it was, in fact, possible to see six planets if you knew where to look!
Also, the waxing gibbous Moon was a splendid sight, with the two craters Tycho and Copernicus showing off their impressive ray systems and terraced walls.
