A Nightingale sang in....

Whenever we're in Sussex with Mum-in-Law Mary, we visit Pulborough Brooks, which, with its wheelchair-friendly hides and pathways and excellent cafe terrace is, in our opinion, one of the best RSPB reserves,

In the spring the main attraction is the good population of Nightingales: during a short visit we heard at least five individuals, including a couple at close range. Frustratingly none emerged from the scrub for photography. Other highlights of our visit included all the expected warblers, a Raven and the first Speckled Wood and Small Copper of the year.
