Brian, Norman and I started the day at Cley, where the only birds of any note were four Spoonbills on Pat's and a few Sandwich Terns passing by the 'Beach Hotel'. The pager announced that a Red-necked Phalarope was visible from the Jordan Hide at Holkham, so we headed west (through a bunch of totally unnecessary diversions) before trudging out through the woods to the hide. A lot of searching provided a couple of brief views, which I seem to have imaged. (You'd have needed the Hubble telescope to get anything reasonable!) A distant Hobby was interesting...
Lots of newly-arrived Pink-footed Geese here and all along the coast - first sign of Winter! We drove back to Cley for coffee, before a brief visit to Bishop's and Babcocks - nothing new to report - and so home to mow the lawn..
