A walk around a very blowy Strumpshaw provided a few surprises: lots of Common Lizards on the 'circular boardwalk' and a tiny young Grass Snake by the railway crossing at Reception. I failed to get an in-focus shot that included its head, but it was soooooooo fast!
Other interesting 'bits' included good views of a Garden Warbler and two Cuckoos - obviously they haven't finished egg-laying yet - as well as what I am reliably told is a Drinker Moth caterpillar.... but what do I know?
