New Year's Day: more effort required!

Linda & I left home early for a thrash along the North Coast, starting at Salthouse and turning back at Titchwell, taking in Cley, Morston, Wells, Burnham Overy, Holkham, New Holkham and Choseley en route.

Unfortunately the high winds and gloomy overcast kept most of the small birds buried in the hedgerows, but we did manage to see six species of goose, nine ducks and plenty of waders. The only raptors were Red Kite, Sparrowhawk, Marsh Harrier and Kestrel: no Buzzards or RLBs, no Merlins and no Peregrines. Owls failed to put in an appearance, despite a lot of searching....

Our final bird was a Pied Wagtail on Tesco's roof, bringing our total to 82.
