A walk around Strumpshaw: Bearded Tit and BBC!

Another lovely morning, so I decided to have a brisk walk around the Fen to see if anything new had dropped in on the south-easterlies. The answer was: no! However, there were plenty of photo opportunities, including Sparrowhawks, tussling Marsh Harriers, all the usual warblers and a couple of Chinese Water Deer.

In the woodland I saw my first dragonfly of the year - a Hairy Hawker - and managed to photograph a number of Large Red Damselflies. A grass snake snoozed on the favoured log, while the woodland glades were full of Bluebells, Primroses and Cowslips...

Warden Tim was discussing shots and tactics with a BBC camera crew by the old pump: perhaps they'll get the timing right this year!
