Brian Tubby and I met at the Fen just after 7.00am, taking advantage of the beautifully sunny early-morning weather. The summer visitors are all in place now, and it was enjoyable photographing 'bread and butter' species such as Kingfisher, Blackcap and Hobby. A Common Whitethroat along the Sandy Path looked interesting on the back of my camera, but Brian's images (and mine once they'd been processed!) revealed the bright orange fringes to the primaries and buff legs and bill. Ben was on hand with a group he was guiding to confirm the identification.
On the way home I stopped on the Heath to listen for Joyce & Andrews Turtles, but all I managed was a Buzzard over their house!
