Interesting Bunting at Titchwell...

You'll remember from yesterday's post that Linda, Brian, Norman and I spent an hour or so at Titchwell while we waited for the tide to recede. Following a walk out to the sea (picking up a skulking Water Rail on the way) we checked out the gulls and waders with the other two before Linda and I had a brief sea-watch. This added Long-tailed Duck, Common Scoter, Red-breasted Merganser and Eider to the daylist: we then left the beach to join our companions in Parrinder Hide.

On the way I noticed a Rock Pipit (with a silver ring!) in the sueda and stopped to take some photos. Suddenly it was joined by a petite, hyper-active bunting. I managed two shots before it disappeared. Despite a search, we never refound the bird. Linda and I both wondered if it could have been  a Little Bunting (we've both seen several in the past) The leg colour, however, should ideally be pink, so perhaps not. However, the bird did behave in a very LB fashion, creeping about in the sueda like a Dunnock...
