Linda and I spent a few days with family in Maidenhead, enjoying excursions for breakfast to Windsor and Henley. Everywhere we went Red Kites threw themselves in front of the camera: what splendid birds they are! Amusing to note that Kite kites are used in Windsor to discourage pigeons!
On Sunday afternoon Linda, her mum Mary and I took a drive to Boulter's Lock on the Thames. This really is a beautiful spot for a walk, which always turns up good birds. On this occasion (as well as the usual Ring-necked Parakeets and Red Kites!) the best of these were a pair of displaying Buzzards and a Kingfisher.
As I write this, Redwings and Fieldfares are streaming over the Heath in their hundreds: too dark for photos yet!
