Open garden at Blofield Heath

Our village is a proper old-fashioned community: with a few exceptions people look out for each other, keep an eye on their neighbours' gardens during holiday time and make it a fabulous place to live. Now and again some of the larger gardens are opened to the public to raise funds for community charities: yesterday Claire (who owns the former 'Bird in Hand' pub at the end of Mill Road) held an open afternoon.

As usual, the event was very well attended, with hot drinks, cakes and an excellent bar. The variety of plants for sale was very impressive and included some scarce types. Linda, Sue, Peter and I had a terrific couple of hours and went home with a few purchases!
