A four mile tour of the dunes (north and south) found us in the wrong places at the wrong time, but I wasn't at all disappointed, because the weather was wonderful and we enjoyed views of some marvellous birds: Buzzard, Swallow, Stonechat, Skylark and Yellowhammer were great to see, but best of all were the two Dartford Warblers that Peter found. Great to meet and chat with several birding acquaintances, not the least old friend Alan, sporting smart new 'Nordic poles'!

Winterton Hoopoe dip, but decent back-up birds!
Peter and Sue mailed to see if I wanted to come out to play today: Peter isn't an early riser, so it was late morning by the time we arrived at Winterton.
