Has anyone else noticed how abundant Brown Hares seem to be this year? Or is it just Norfolk? Not only have I come across Hares on every trip out since lockdown was relaxed, but they seem a lot less timid than usual.
There are even half a dozen frequenting the field beyond our garden fence: in 25 years, I've never seen more than one or two there.
Linda and I are massive fans of these beautiful creatures: they seem (fanciful, I know) to have surprising levels of wisdom and awareness, and I'm not surprised that they were held in such esteem by Belgic and other ancient British peoples...
