I was beginning to think (after three abortive trips to Colney) that Waxwing would fail to appear on the year list, but a trip to Titchwell this morning gave us close views of a very confiding flock of six right by the access road.
The weather was appalling, but we managed to visit both hides: little to show for it apart from lots of Mediterranean Gulls and a few of the expected waders. As we were leaving we stopped to photograph a Brambling by the visitors centre: the drive to Cley for coffee was unproductive so, with the rain becoming steadier, we drove homewards.
