Glossy Ibis and Dartford Warblers on the North Coast

With rain forecast, Brian, Norman and I headed north, more in hope than anticipation. Bishop's Hide provided shelter from the drizzle, but little else (Although I did finally add Reed Bunting and Cetti's Warbler to the year list!)

We moved westward to Stiffkey, walking out through the mud to the 'Whirligig': lots of Brent Geese, but no Red -breasted amongst them. Heading back to Cley for coffee, we paused to scan the flood south of the road, immediately locating the long-staying Glossy Ibis. (Shots from the car only, so just records, really: flight picture by Norman)

After coffee we moved a few miles to a well-known heath, where a short walk gave us all great views of a couple of male Dartford Warblers (Again: the light was terrible!)

Last stop was the John Innes, Colney, where the Waxwings failed to put in an appearance!
