Ospreys at Ranworth Broad

Since Linda needed the car in the afternoon, I thought I'd pop over to Ranworth to look for the recently-present Ospreys. When I arrived I found Elizabeth Dack and her friend Denise already on the staging and we soon located both Ospreys in and around their new nest. (Amusingly, they've built this some distance from the platform constructed by the NWT!) We watched the birds mating and feeding and were surprised to see a Red Kite swooping down on them: you'd've thought they'd have seen it off! Shame the nest is a measured one kilometre from the centre!

First Common Terns of the year were already prospecting the platforms, while several pairs of Great Crested Grebes were 'weed dancing'.
