Interesting duck at Whitlingham Lane

I've seen this duck on several occasions, but it's always been too far away for decent photography. It seems to be a hybrid: do any of you have any ideas about its genetic composition?

Hi David.

To me the headshape doesn't really suggest any Pochard or Scaup involvement, and the amount of white around the bill is well within the variation of some of the female Tufted Ducks. Based on these photos(and with the caveat that I haven't seen any of the scarcer aythya hybrids in the flesh) I'd be inclined to say dark female Tufted Duck for this bird.

Regards,

James
