Just before dawn this morning you could see five planets and a comet (if you count the Earth!)
In the south east, Venus and Saturn were really close together, Mars was high in the south, while Jupiter was towards the west. Comet Catalina was in the constellation of Bootes and almost overhead. Twice (around 05.35 and 07.15) the International Space Station passed across the sky: it will be really bright during its transit tomorrow at 06.20. It's worth taking a peek, even if you're not an astronomer!
Meanwhile, the trees around my garden were full of Redwings well before dawn: they seem to like an early breakfast!
