While transferring my SD card to the hard drive, I just noticed that yesterday's putative Coues's Arctic Redpoll was indeed part of the flock of a dozen that briefly perched on top of a small bush by the path.
I also add a couple of 'in the shade' images that show the undertail and just a suggestion of the pale rump. For some absolutely fantastic identification pointers, Martin Garner's phenomenal Birding Frontiers is just the best!
