Linda needed to visit the visitors' centre at Cley to discuss placing her bee products there, so we grabbed the chance for a couple of hours birding afterwards
We spent a while checking the various groups of Brents on the Eye Field: no obvious candidates for Pale-bellied, but one Dark-bellied looked like it might have had a bit of Brant in its genes!
As we were leaving Cley, the pager announced that the Long-eared Owl was again showing at Cley Spy at Glandford: two minutes later we were watching it dozing in its favoured bit of hedge!
We moved westwards to Holkham, stopping at the two ad-hoc pull-ins to add White-fronted Goose and White-tailed Eagle to the day's tally.
Last stop was Stiffkey, where a kind gent from Ely let me view the Pallid Harrier through his scope!
