I've just obtained a whole tray of Egyptian / Libyan desert glass: the best we've had for ages! Much valued by gemologists, archaeologists, meteoriticists and crystal therapists, the demand has always outstripped supply. (I'm talking about the real deal here, not the melted bottle glass offered on the online auction sites!)
It was produced by a cometary airburst over the Gilf el Kebir, Sahara, thousands of years ago. In Neolithic times it was used to make tools and weapons - some of those below are Neolithic scrapers!
