Cattle Egrets at Halvergate

Linda and I had to drop off an old computer chair at Strumpshaw, so we carried on to Halvergate to see if we could add last year's Cattle Egrets to this year's list! On the way we saw several huge flocks of Pinkfeet, but there didn't seem to be any 'strangers' among them!

We blanked at the usual cattle fields at the end of Branch Road, but as we drove north towards the Acle Straight we located five Cattle Egrets in two groups on either side of the road. Fortunately there was a convenient pull-over, allowing me to take a few photos. More Pinkfeet flighted in as we were watching: there must be thousands in the Yare Valley at the moment.
