Half an hour at the Fen

On my way to the Post Office, I stopped off at Strumpshaw for a brief scan from Fen Hide. Inside I found Brian & Norman, who, despite the cold and gloomy conditions, had been there since 7am (!!!)

The reward for their commitment was a pretty decent bird-list: ringtail Hen Harrier, Water Rail, Bittern and Kingfisher, only the last of which I managed to see! With work pressing, I left just as Adrian was arriving

On the way past Reception Hide I noticed this Pheasant, obviously hoping to figure on an RSPB Christmas card!
