Back home in Norfolk!

Back home after a surprisingly fruitful trip to Maidenhead: two year ticks (Arctic Tern and Little Gull) and a 'half lifer' - the Horned Lark, which, for some reason, is only a sub-species. Strange that: it's a lot more different to 'our' Shorelarks than an Iberian Chiffchaff is from the one singing in my back garden!

Haven't had the opportunity to go after the Yank Bittern yet: if it's still around next week (and the weather improves!) I might have a bash. Meanwhile, I'm still working on the new book (just finishing up a few loose ends) and putting together a couple of Powerpoints for two talks I'm giving soon.
