Rendlesham Forest: no UFOs, but some interesting birds!

Linda and I spent the weekend in Suffolk, enjoying a reunion with our two oldest friends: Jason and Paul. We first met these two lovely guys and their families when they became customers of ours at airshows and astronaut conventions. Since 2010, we've joined them in annual visits to Rendlesham Forest - the site of the UK's most credible (yet controversial!) UFO landing.

On the way down to East Suffolk, Linda and I stopped at Wrentham: it was at this point that I realised I'd left my birding camera and lens on the dining table! We had great views of the Black Kite, which at one point was joined by the Red Kite carrying a large dead rat! Other birds there included Siskin and Buzzard.

Our two walks through the forest with Paul and Jason were curtailed by a family emergency for poor Jason, who had to return home late on Saturday night: before then we revisited the usual sites and enjoyed excellent views of at least eight singing Woodlarks.

A great reunion, (despite it being cut a little short) with lots of chat, food and G&Ts!
