Little Ringed Plovers by the Norwich NDR

The Northern Distributor Route has chewed up a lot of beautiful habitat and undoubtedly cut a swathe through wildlife-important woodland, hedges and reedbeds, but it has quickly revealed a couple of benefits to Norfolk birders:
  1. You can drive from east Norfolk to north-west Norfolk in just over half an hour: around fifteen minutes quicker than before!
  2. I can reach the Heaths north of Norwich in just fifteen minutes
  3. There are already three pairs of Little Ringed Plovers and several pairs of Oystercatchers breeding by the side of the new road
