Black Redstarts breed in Norwich!

What a great city! Successful Peregrines and now Black Redstarts!
Linda and I first heard the BRs in the early spring and were convinced we'd seen at least three different birds. On several occasions since we've seen two apparently different pairs on separate territories: one of these at least has definitely bred, because we saw a juvenile with two adults around Bond's / The Woolpack today! At the same time as we were watching these we could hear another bird in song from the direction of the market: sure enough, we located another adult on top of St Peter Mancroft.

These charming little birds with their tinkling song really brighten up a morning's shopping!
