A Sparrowhawk comes to call!

Having just endured a somewhat gruelling hour in the dentist's chair (root canal) it was very pleasant to glance from the office window to see our beautiful female Sparrowhawk perched on top of the pergola. After twenty minute's preening, she was still sunbathing happily, so Linda popped next door and returned with Sue and Peter. Even globe travelers with more birds on their lists than I've ever dreamt of were thrilled by such close and prolonged views.
