Put down some apples and they'll appear!

We've had lots of Redwings in the garden this winter - until they'd eaten all the Cotoneaster berries, that is! Fieldfares have been much scarcer, and all 'flyovers'. When we have a spell of snowy weather, Linda and I always put out extra food. This is usually a mixture of grains, nuts, suet and apples, which the Blackbirds adore!

As soon as it grew light this morning, a beautiful Fieldfare moved in, protecting a group of apples right in the middle of the lawn. Nice to see a Stock Dove joining in (albeit somewhat timidly!)
